Frequently Asked Questions
We strive to work with only the best woods we can get and ensure that the final product is not only something beautiful to behold but something that will last for generations. By the time a piece becomes available for purchase, it has been left to dry to a level suitable for the climates of indoor spaces and homes. However, as a natural material, wood does occasionally need a bit of care.
We use a durable natural oil and wax based product that protects the wood and keeps it looking its best. Under normal conditions it needs very little maintenance but if does become dull or gets water-marked, its quite easy to restore with a bit of oil and a clean cloth. If you are unsure of exactly how, get in touch with us and we'll guide you through the caring process.
As an alternative, we offer free care and maintenance. Just cover the cost of shipping your piece back and forth and we'll take care of the rest. Get in touch with us if you'd like to know more.
Can I buy a piece anywhere else?
John's work has been sold to several small shops and galleries around the UK in the past but is now available exclusively through the website.
Do you do commissions?
We are open to doing commissions but due to the nature of the wood we cannot guarantee a specific look or shape. If you have a rough idea of what you have in mind or a look you are going for, get in touch and we'll see what we can do!
Can I visit your studio?
Unfortunately we are generally not able to accommodate visitors but it doesn't hurt to ask. Email us to get in touch.
Are you looking for any interns or apprentices?
Unfortunately we are not looking for any extra help at the moment but thanks for the interest!
